Now that the insider trading trial of Raj Rajaratnam is over, the trial counsel for the government is moving on. The lawyer, Jonathan R. Streeter, will join the law firm Dechert LLP in February as a litigation partner.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged additional individuals and entities in its SEC v. Galleon insider trading case, including a New York hedge fund advisory firm, its hedge fund manager, an analyst at the hedge fund, a senior corporate executive in the technology sector, and an investor relations firm employee.
Attorneys for hedge fund billionaire Raj Rajaratnam have moved to suppress wiretaps involving Rajaratnam. The challenged recordings, the filing argues, were both in violation of the Constitution and were obtained through material misrepresentations and omissions in the government’s wiretap application to the Court.
Let’s see. There’s that guy, and this one, and another. And him, and don’t forget that one. OK. Now, add to that list Number 11: Robert W. Moffat Jr., a former IBM senior executive, has pleaded guilty in the insider trading case involving Galleon Group founder Raj Rajaratnam.
There have been nine guilty pleas so far in the Galleon hedge fund insider trading case – enough to fill a baseball field with players at every position. Now, reports suggest that the feds are beginning to add to their bench – another guilty plea is coming. Raj Rajaratnam can’t be happy with this development.
