One Year Ago: The Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Bailouts

It is almost hard to believe, given all that has happened in the past 12 months, that exactly one year ago today the federal government bailed out  mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to the tune of up to $200 billion (about half of which has been drawn down).

 
And that was only the beginning….
