‘Startling Vein Of Corruption In The Food Industry’ Highlighted In Times Piece
When an article in the business section of the New York Times begins with “Robert Watson, a top ingredient buyer for Kraft Foods, needed $20,000 to pay his taxes,” it’s time to say, uh oh. And uh oh is right. The article discusses a bribery scheme and a “startling vein of corruption in the food industry” involving “millions of pounds of tomato products with high levels of mold or other defects.” Yodels, anyone?
The article is available at http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/25/business/25tomatoes.html?ref=business&pagewanted=all.
