The SEC missed Madoff – by a lot. It missed a good deal of other financial fraud, too. But in the past year, the SEC, under Robert Khuzami, Director of the SEC's Division of Enforcement, has brought a tremendous number of actions and has reached a very significant number of settlements. Has the SEC changed so that it won’t miss the next Madoff? We do not know the answer to that yet, of course. But we are quite clear that the Number 4 person in Financial Fraud Law this year is Robert Khuzami (pictured).
