White Collar Enforcement Lawyer Samuel J. Buffone Joins BuckleySandler

Samuel J. Buffone, former co-head of the Government Enforcement Practice Group at Ropes & Gray, has a new home: the Washington, D.C., office of BuckleySandler.

Buffone, pictured, has more than 35 years of experience representing individual and corporate clients in criminal and complex civil litigation and enforcement matters throughout the United States. He has broad experience in a variety of grand jury, trial, and appellate matters, including RICO, bank fraud, securities fraud, money laundering, mail and wire fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and procurement fraud cases. Buffone  also represents foreign companies and individuals in proceedings in the United States, and American companies and individuals in proceedings throughout the world.
 
Last year, Buffone argued and won an appeal in the U.S. Supreme Court barring further prosecution of a former Enron executive on double jeopardy grounds. Yeager v. United States, 129 S.Ct. 2360 (2009).
